My Life In Pictures
by Felix Cavaliere
Flip, May 1967
I was a year and a half
old and thinking of becoming
a farmer. But it's kind of
difficult when the shovel
is bigger than you are!
(Funny thing, though. I've
grown since. But the shovel
is still the same size!)Starting Combing my hair
about this time. What with
the sailor's suit and the beach
ball, I could have been posing
for a commercial. Just for the
family album, though, from
which all of these photos
were borrowed. Here I am without the shovel or the
yard full of dirt. Funny what a bath
will do for a kid! And how do you
like that fancy walking stick??
When I started school,
I started looking
intellectual! But even
though I had glasses
and a serious expression,
that was no guarantee
that I'd hit the books.
(And how about that collar!)A formal high school
photo when I was 17,
and had a forelock
which kept aiming for
my nose! These are The Rockers - my first band. I was
13-1/2 when this picture was taken.
These are "Felix and the Escorts", which
I organized when I was at Syracuse University. This photo is five years old.I was still leading The Escorts when
they snapped me at the piano at the Raleigh Hotel in South Fallsburg, NYAnd this is the way the camera tells me I look today. And the camera never lies. Does it?
